New Language Arts Games

Robo-Bee

Will your language skills blossom or wilt? It's up to you as you control the flight of the Robo-Bee through a garden of synonyms, antonyms, spelling, and usage puzzles!

BIGbot

Feed the BIGbots! These word-automated machines have quite an appetite, so come prepared with a voracious vocabulary! Good hand and eye coordination is a definite plus!

Jumble Kids

It's the original, the classic, the long-time favorite! Unscramble a list of words, then use the circled letters to unscramble the bonus solution.

Adverbs

Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, and adverbs. They often tell how, when, and where.

We walked quietly down the hallway. I hiccuped loudly. Everyone laughed quietly.

The test is right now. I wish the test were later. Maybe we can have the test tomorrow.

Bring the paper here. Put the paper there. She put the paper upstairs.

Battleship- In this game you have to choose the adverb out of the sentence.


Irregular Verbs

Irregular verbs are verbs that change their spelling when put into past tense.

For example, run changes to ran.

He is about to run the race.
He ran the race.

For example, sit changes to sat.

Please sit down.
He sat down.


Jeopardy- Play jeopardy by typing in the correct irregular verb.

Conjunctions

Coordinating conjunctions connect two phrases. It is normally done by putting a comma before the clause.

To remember the conjunctions, remember FAN BOYS.

For And Nor

But Or Yet So

My brother had seconds, for he is a growing boy.

I love ice cream, and I am thrilled when I can eat pizza.

She is not sleepy, nor is she ready for bed.

He likes apples, but he enjoys bananas more.

They could go to the movies, or they might rent a movie.

We thought it was a fog delay, yet it wasn't.

She said there was a spelling test on Friday, so I studied hard all week.
